The river flows through the sanctuary of Naiku.In accordance with Shinto traditions, the hands and mouth are symbolically purified with the water of the river before paying respects to the Shrines. The area along the IsuzugawaRiver near Naiku is known as Isuzu Park, a complex of a pond, paths for walking, a gymnasium, and a stadium for track-and-field events.（run by Mie prefecture.）
