This is an old-established shop of a herbal medicine, Mankintan, It started in the beginning of the Edo era （1603-1867）. 'Mankintan' has been noted as a miraculous medicine for the digestion, drunkenness, carsickness and poisoning. It has been familiar to many people as their household medicine and a souvenir of Ise as well. The architectural form of the shop is a typical gable style called 'Mikuri-Hafu'.
