shrine is an auxiliary shrine of the Outer Shrine. The deity is Tsukiyomi-no-Mikoto.
Amaterasu-Omikami is the symbol of the sun, and this god is the symbol of the
beautiful moonlight. The 300m long street from here to the gate of the Outer Shrine
is called Kamiji-Dori, or the path along which the god comes and goes. In the
myth, Tsukiyomi no Mikoto fell in love with the goddess of the Geku. When night
came a part of the stone wall of the shrine changed into a white horse. Then Mikoto
rode on horseback to see the goddess. So the people here in Ise never walked in
the center of the path at night ---They saved the center of for Tsukiyomi no Mikoto. | Access | | 1) | Kintetsu
