is located in the center of Japan and in the southern part of Mie Prefecture.
Ise-Shi has a population of 100,144 and an area of 179 square kilometers, one-third
of which is forest owned by Ise Grand Shrine, The forest provides us treasure
of natural environment. About 5.5 million people visit Ise-Shi every year. As
the hub city of the Ise-Shima region, Ise-Shi plays an important role in education,
culture, welfare and industry of the region. Blessed with outstanding beauty,
the Ise-Shima region has been designated a national park. The project of development
of the local resort is under way, making optimal use of the natural environment. |

Ise City Tourist Information office is in the corner
of Kintetsu Line Ujiyamada Station. We have some brochures on our city and the
Ise Grand Shrine, and the maps, too. They are all free. When you come to visit
Ise City, please feel free to drop over to our office. The office is open from
